This is one coaxing piece of folk drift, as if we are part of the inner crew so Day by Day can be as honest as is possible. So the haunted strains of Fernando Gastelo should come as no surprise because we can relate to the sense of hopelessness that drives the piece. This is real life turned into artistic endeavour, an extrapolation of a howl at the moon but done in a manner that is listenable for the rest of us. I heard aspects of Bowie here believe it or not but there is just a degree of rawness that made for a tough listen all the same.
